Senate Passes Financial Reform, Greedman Hacks Fined 500 Million, And Oakland Lays Off More Policeman

These were the three big headlines of the day along with the supposed closure of the oil leak in the Gulf. The coverage on the oil spill has been beat to death and there is no need to comment on this disaster any longer. The financial reform bill is geared toward Wall Street and the banking industries practices of stealing money from the public. Over the next couple of years, these rules will be strictly enforced and when the economy rebounds will slowly fall by the wayside and these institutions will find new ways to rip-off citizens.

Greedman Hacks fine is a drop in the bucket for this well-oiled public pilfering machine. They are happy to pay the fine, as it is pocket change to them, and will get back to making millions.

The Oakland police department announced more officers layoffs, resulting in them only responding to violent crimes, and other crimes will be reported via the internet. The city budget is taking another setback due to the declining tax rolls caused by the continuing housing industry collapse. The Oakland firemen already have brown out days forcing them to take days off without pay in order to save money. Two days earlier a fire required the department to respond with all the available equipment and fire fighters placing the rest of the city unprotected. The criminals in Oakland are having a strategy seminar on how to take advantage of the depleted police force knowing as long as they don’t commit violent crimes will not be disturbed.

Every day cities are becoming more susceptible to criminals and fires as city officials continue reducing services to the public. This situation will deteriorate until half a city burns down or a riot gets out of control killing multitudes. Unfortunately, in this country it takes a legion of dead bodies littering Main Street to get citizens to wake up.
